privacy policy
Your information, thoughtfully handled.
Updated 26 September 2026Who this notice is for
This notice concerns Keto AU at ketoau.com, an English-language recipe and kitchen-living publication for readers in the United Kingdom and Europe. It describes information handled when you browse the site, save a guide on your device or contact the editorial team. It is intended to address the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and EU GDPR where they apply. Privacy enquiries can be sent to [email protected].
Information you choose to share
An email to us may contain your name, email address and the contents of your message. Please do not send medical records, payment details, identification documents or other sensitive information. You can browse recipes without an account. This website does not provide a checkout or take payment for products.
Browsing and device information
When a page is requested, hosting and security services may receive technical information such as the requested address, time, IP address and browser details. This is separate from the saved-guide list held on your device. Search on this site is performed against the public content index in your browser; search terms may also appear in the address of the page you visit.
Why information is used
Messages are used to respond to enquiries, investigate corrections and manage correspondence. Technical information is used to deliver pages, identify errors, prevent abuse and protect the service. We do not need health information to carry out these tasks. If a new service requires different information, its purpose will be explained before that information is collected.
Legal bases
We rely on legitimate interests where appropriate for ordinary correspondence, security and maintaining a working publication, considering the interests and rights of readers. Processing needed to meet a legal obligation relies on that obligation. Optional marketing or non-essential tracking, if introduced, must have an appropriate lawful basis and consent where required. Permission for one purpose is not permission for unrelated uses.
Saved guides, cookies and similar technologies
When you choose to save a guide, its identifier is stored in your browser local storage so that it remains in your reading list. You can remove individual entries on the Saved page or clear the list and browser storage. This preference is not an account and does not sync between devices. The current site package includes no advertising pixels, embedded social feeds or analytics tags. Hosting infrastructure may use security technologies; these must be assessed separately before optional tracking is introduced.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
A clearly disclosed affiliate link may take you to an independent retailer or network. That service may record referrals using its own cookies or similar technologies. Read its privacy and cookie notices before continuing. We do not receive your card details through such a referral. The current kitchen shortlist is an editorial checklist with no retailer links; the presence of an affiliate disclosure does not mean every link earns a commission.
Sharing and service providers
Access to correspondence is limited to people who need to handle it. Hosting, email and security providers may process information needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably needed to protect legal rights. Personal messages are not published as testimonials or reader stories without separate permission. We do not sell your contact information.
International processing
Internet hosting or email services may process information outside your country. Where a restricted international transfer is made, the relevant legal requirements must be met, for example through an applicable adequacy decision or suitable contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to a specific enquiry. We do not claim that all website traffic stays within the UK or EEA.
How long information is kept
Correspondence is kept only for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any necessary follow-up, dispute or legal requirement. Technical records should be limited to the period needed for operation and security. Saved guides remain in your browser until you remove them or clear storage. Retention depends on the purpose and applicable obligations, not an indefinite permission to keep everything.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. Where consent is used, you may withdraw it without changing the lawfulness of earlier processing. Email [email protected] and describe the information concerned. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity before responding.
Complaints
You may contact us first about a privacy concern, but you do not have to do so before contacting a regulator. In the UK, complaints can be made to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In the EEA, you can contact the relevant data protection supervisory authority, including where you live or work.
Children, security and automated decisions
This publication is aimed at a general adult audience. We do not intentionally request personal information from children. Please tell us if a child has sent information that should be removed. Reasonable security measures are important, but no online service can promise absolute security. The site does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
